BECOME AN ALLSTAR!

BECOME AN ALLSTAR!

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR WINTER SEASON 2026!

Are you looking to join a fun & inclusive, family-friendly netball community? Want to be part of all the action, make some new friends & strengthen your skills? Do you want to take on a volunteer role as coach, committee member or umpire and lead our Allstars to success? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

Based in the north-eastern suburbs of South Australia, we are a Netball SA (Netball South Australia) affiliated club and actively field competitive teams of all ages & skill levels at

the South Australian Districts Netball Association (SADNA) and Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre (PGRC) across all 12-months of the year, while also recently launching our Little Allstars Program for young, upcoming & aspiring netballers who aren’t quite old enough to take the court at a competitive level just yet.

Our sport does not have an “off-season”; we play two seasons per competition year at SADNA, being Winter Season (April-September) & Summer Season (October-March), and at PGRC with Term 1 (January-July) & Term 2 (August-December) running directly alongside the school terms. Meanwhile, our Little Allstars Program runs parallel with the SADNA competition season.

At Pooraka Netball Club it is not a requirement for players to participate in both the SADNA & PGRC competition when registered to our club! We have players who play strictly at SADNA and not at PGRC, vice versa. We also have players who participate in both competitions at the same time. It is completely up to the individual player as to whether they wish to participate in both competitions, or just one.

Please note that fielding teams at SA Districts Netball Association (SADNA) is always our top priority, as this association is, and always has been Pooraka Netball Club’s home of competition. We only nominate and submit teams at Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre (PGRC) as the opportunities arise.

At Pooraka Netball Club we run a self founded and funded program called the Little Allstars Program, designed for players who are brand newbies to the sport! The program offers weekly training sessions for players aged 5-8yrs old to come out and try netball. Participants will learn things like passing, shooting, movement and footwork in preparation for when they are ready and confident enough to step out on court in the future — all while getting the chance to make new friends!

  • There is a $50.00 upfront program participation fee when signing up to our Little Allstars Program. We do not think it is fair to charge excess of $100+ fees for a program like such as we know how indecisive kids can be and we believe they should get the chance to try something new without parents having any long term commitments or extreme fees to cover. The program participation fee of $50.00 helps assist with covering the participant for sports insurance and a personalised Little Allstars Tee, including their name and the program season!

  • When participating in our Little Allstars Program, players will not play weekly games for the entire duration of the season. There is nothing more heartbreaking than watching your child stand frozen on a netball court and scared because they are overwhelmed and aren’t sure what to do. This program allows kids to learn the basic skills of netball in a stress free environment with no pressure of game days to worry about.

  • Training is every Thursday night from 6:00-6:45pm on Quinlivan Road in Pooraka. Our program will officially start on Thursday, April 16 and will run alongside our upcoming Winter Season 2026 — 16 weeks of training sessions.

  • Training is every Thursday night from 6-6:45pm on Quinlivan Road in Pooraka (near the football club). Our program will officially start on Thursday, October 2 and will run alongside our upcoming Summer Season 2025/26 — 16 weeks of training sessions.

  • At present there is no set uniform required for those participating in the Little Allstars Program, however participants will receive a classic cotton Little Allstars Tee upon registration to the program, although this is not compulsory to wear during the sessions. Otherwise we recommend some comfy clothes, running/netball shoes, a drink bottle, hair tied away from the face and a big cheesy smile!

  • It’s hard to keep focus at that age - we get it! We purposefully made our program commitment free for this exact reason. Your child may find that netball isn’t their thing, and that’s okay! You can opt out of the Little Allstars Program at any time without any cancellation or withdrawal fees.

Grading & Team Selection:
We do not currently hold individual, stand-alone trial dates in order to determine grading! Over the course of Round 10, 11 & 12 of the current Summer Season 2025/26 grading for the upcoming Winter Season 2026 will take place. Members of our Grading Committee will attend games to assess our current/returning players to help assist with grading teams appropriately for Winter Season 2026.

For any NEW players who are seeking to join Pooraka Netball Club in Winter Season 2026, please see attached file “Pooraka Netball Club Grading & Team Selection Policy” for further details on how this process works. A combination of past playing history provided by PlayHQ and what is provided by the player when completing our Expression of Interest Form, and criteria such as age, experience, skill level, preferred playing positions & training availability is dependent on final team placings.

A maximum of 7-days after the last Grand Final of Summer Season 2025/26 (being no later than Tuesday, April 7) teams will be announced via team group chats, where you will be notified of your nominated grade, teammates and coach(es) for Winter Season 2026, as well as confirmation of your team’s training night & timeslot.

Netball SA Membership Fee:
The Netball SA Membership Fee is payable every Winter Season and is active for the entire competition year (ie. from April 1 – March 31, being Winter Season 2026 and Summer Season 2026/27). Please note ALL PLAYERS will be due to pay their Netball SA Membership Fee when registering for Winter Season 2026.

Should a player already have completed a registration to a different club at a different association for Winter Season 2026, prior to completing their registration to Pooraka Netball Club at SADNA, and they have paid their Netball SA Membership Fee at the time of registering for their other club, the player should not be required to pay this fee again when registering to Pooraka. A player is to ONLY pay their Netball SA Membership fee ONCE per competition year.

*It is important to note the Netball SA Membership Fee and Netball Australia & PlayHQ Service Fee(s) are a compulsory payment imposed by Netball South Australia, Netball Australia & the PlayHQ platform. These fees are not set by, and cannot be waived or deferred by Pooraka Netball Club.

Sports Vouchers:
A sports voucher is a government-funded program, specifically in South Australia, that provides families with a discount on the fees for children's participation in sports, dance, and other activities like learn-to-swim, scouts, guides, and music lessons. The goal is to make these activities more accessible by reducing the financial barrier for children from Reception to Year 9. Parents or guardians apply for the voucher, which is then applied by the club or provider to reduce the child's fees.

The number of Sports Vouchers available per child is 2 x $100.00 vouchers per child, per calendar year. A Sports Voucher is only accessible for children who are in Reception to Year 9, and if a voucher is used for less than its total worth the remaining balance will be forfeited. You can claim your Sports Voucher on the final payment page of registration via PlayHQ by entering your child’s Medicare Card number & details as the voucher code.

Please Note: PlayHQ will allow you to claim the voucher even if you have already reached your maximum claim limit, as it does not check the claim up front - the system only checks if the Medicare Card number is valid. Please ensure you are eligible BEFORE you claim.

Check your Sports Voucher Eligibility Here!

Alternatively, if you claim and we find you are ineligible (meaning you have already used both $100.00 vouchers in 2026), our Treasurer will be in contact via email and you will be required to pay the outstanding amount due before we can accept the player’s registration.

Important:
We ask that you please read through ALL of our policies & understand what is expected of a player, coach, spectator & umpire before joining Pooraka Netball Club. We strongly believe everyone deserves to be respected, regardless of their gender, cultural background, religion, skill level, abilities & development.
